CHOOSING COLORS FOR ENVELOPES & INSERTS
Frequently Asked Questions & Professional Suggestions
Where to start...
Welcome! The beauty of the semi-custom collection are the many options that you can choose from - envelope and insert colors being one of them. We suggest perusing the invitation designs first and seeing which one compliments your wedding. After you have narrowed it down then continue with the customizations!
Colored paper...
All colors come in a matte finish (no glitter or metallic finish here!).
We have worked hard to represent the in-person color as best as possible via the color chart webpage - please note that colors appear differently between phone, computer and tablet screens and can be a shade or so off from the actual paper once seen in person.

Our house paper...
We use a lovely cotton paper stock as the base of all stationery designs. It comes in a natural white color and has a soft touch and finish to it. This is the paper that all designs - invitations, inserts and envelopes - start with unless upgrading to a different color.
If a design is a full flood of color, we then switch to a smooth paper stock in order to preserve the printed design as best as it can be (cotton paper does have texture, so full flood color does not print as well on that un-smooth surface). It is to our professional discretion to use the correct paper for each design.

I am having difficulty choosing!
We are here to help! Add to your order our Curated Color Consultation - which will assist in selecting a color palette that is cohesive to your wedding style - and one of our professional designers will reach out to begin the process of creating your color palette.
We will take the lead, lending our professional advise and knowhow of paper products, and present multiple options. The Color Consultation will start with a detailed email or phone call in order to gather important information about your wedding aesthetic, preferred colors, rentals such as linens/vases/statement pieces, flowers and/or greenery + all the smaller details. We will also discuss your preferred palette range - and email you three digital presentations. You will choose one and we will then begin designing your suite! This add-on service is $150 per Curated Consultation to account for time and expertise.

Important - RSVP mail-back inserts...
It is highly recommended that any RSVP insert that is intended to be written on - hence, those that are meant to be mailed back to the couple (not RSVP'd online) - be in a color tone that is light and can easily be written on. .
Dark paper + envelopes and printing...
Dark paperstock requires a white ink print on it. For example, if you wish to use Ebony as your main envelope and Claret as your Details Insert - both of those papers are of such a dark color that they require white ink printing in order for the information and design to be easily read.
Colored paper and insert designs...not all will work!
Colored paper is recommended for designs that do not have artwork on them (i.e. watercolor crest or floral embellishment) - either line drawings or text only will work with colored paper.
For example, if you have chosen a suite that has a lot of watercolor artwork - it is not recommended to upgrade to a colored paper for your RSVP or Details cards. Instead, we recommend having either the main envelope or RSVP envelope (if you are choosing a mail-in response) be colored paper for that extra pop.

Paper availability...
Sometimes things run out! If that happens, we will notify you if a certain paper color is out of stock and work to find an option that is comparable.
We have noted in the color chart the few options that are not available as envelopes.
